Duties and Responsibilities: The new generation of United Nations Country Team in Guinea-Bissau (UNCT) with the support of the new generation of UNCG, will work together to make UN communications more effective and coherent by aligning with General Assembly Resolution 72/279. New approaches are required to reach the targets audiences, therefore the UNCG has defined several digital products to strategically communicate the results of the UN intervention in Guinea-Bissau, internally and externally. The Volunteer will continue to support graphic content production in support of implementing Joint Communications Strategy 2022/26 and will work under the guidance of the Communications and Advocacy Officer of RCO. All work will be delivered through electronic submission to the Communications and Advocacy Officer of RCO. She/he will focus on the following areas of work: · Develop a design and reusable framework for an internal newsletter “Boletim Informativo do Sistema das Nações Unidas Guiné-Bissau”. The Volunteer will support the production of the newsletter.

We are looking for an Online Volunteer who under the guidance of Communications and Advocacy Officer (CAO) and in close collaboration with the communications team (UNCG) support us by producing the first and second edition of the UNCT internal/external Newsletter, June and December 2024. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Develop the first and second edition of the internal and external Newsletter under the guidance of the CAO - Create draft design based on requirements and discuss with focal point/ communications team; - Develop the design according to agreed requirements.

The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance. The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the team at RCO and UNCG and learn about the ways in which graphic design can support working for development.

Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing Newsletter layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. · Strong, demonstrated creativity. · Good knowledge of the UN, development issues, and gender-related issues. · The Volunteer will provide her/his own equipment which should include a laptop computer, design software(s) and a smartphone.
