ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Proposal Development Project Management & Funder Stewardship

- Work with IRC SLC programs to research and develop sources of funding from corporate philanthropy, Community Reinvestment Act funders, foundations and other private sources. - Support pre-award and coordinate post-award processes utilizing IRC’s grants management database, maintaining detailed tracking in Salesforce, and utilizing IRC SLC’s preferred project management application, Asana. - Maintain and build organizational systems for grants administration in coordination with local leadership, program managers, and HQ. - Develop and/or deepen relationships with existing funders, including developing and executing robust, annual funder stewardship plans involving key stakeholders. - Prepare for, coordinate, and support program managers in preparation of funder introductions, stewardship meetings and activities, and general funder engagement.

Internal Compliance

- Following the grants workflow, maintain and improve internal systems for grant opening, monitoring, and closing meetings for all funding streams, including engaging appropriate stakeholders such as Finance, Development, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning and program staff. - Maintain and improve implementation of internal standards for reporting, including standard operating procedures for report submissions, reporting templates, etc. to increase program capacity and efficiency during the grant period. - Support the development and implementation of templates and tools to ensure timely and organized management of grants and funder stewardship. - Develop organizational system for concept notes, grants boilerplate, and other efficiency measures to streamline grant writing processes, including writing and updating boilerplate. - Support the development of trainings resources to improve internal grants workflow, update on processes, and ensure all programs follow grants management flow and business development standards.

General Development Supports

- Participate as a member of the IRC in Salt Lake City’s Speakers Bureau, including attending community tabling and speaking events. - Participate in development team meetings, weekly staff meetings, and national skills building trainings, calls, and communities of practice. - Support general office logistics, such as office support and front desk, as applicable and feasible. - Support all-hands team events, as feasible. - Maintain professionalism, customer service, and IRC Way ideals when working with the community. - Other reasonable tasks and projects as assigned.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports to: Grants Manager Position directly supervises: None

Indirect Reporting: Executive Director, Development Director and Program Managers. Other Internal and/or external contacts: HQ program officers, other grants management staff, resource development team and program staff.

Job Requirements:

Education OR Work Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred in related fields, and/or - 2 years’ experience in grant writing, management and/or reporting; or experience in a nonprofit setting working to achieve grant deliverables and outcomes; or equivalent experience.

Language Skills: Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Other language skills a plus.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies

- Experience with grant writing, funding stewardship, and grant reporting preferred. - Demonstrated understanding of private sector fundraising and non-profit management. - Proven track record with private sector fundraising, grants management and administration. - Strong organizational skills including: multi-tasking, prioritizing, planning, and effective time management. - Strong writing and editing skills with an excellent attention to detail. - Project management experience a plus. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. - Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM a plus. - Motivated, flexible and ability to work independently. - Experience providing formal and informal training, editing, and giving and receiving written and verbal feedback. - Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member in a diverse, cross-cultural environment. - Demonstrated multi-cultural experience. - Valid driver’s license, active insurance policy and access to reliable transportation. - Lived experience of the communities served a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a flexible position which can operate within a flexible or partial remote workplace.

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
