This assignment supports an environmental study in Lababia Village, Papua New Guinea led by the Morobe Development Foundation in partnership with local communities. The study aims to assess environmental changes and impacts to inform conservation programs and sustainable development planning.
The Online Volunteers will provide a detailed literature review and information on landslide and earthquake mapping.
We are seeking to collaborate with 3 Online Volunteers - who have expertise in GIS with knowledge in tremor, geology, etc. Specifically, Online Volunteers will conduct a literature review and work on landslide and earthquake mapping.
Required skills: - GIS analysis - Remote sensing - Ability to communicate and work onward deadlines - English; excellent writing and communication skills - Lansat, Google Earth and a wide range of GIS applications
Desired skills: - Degree in GIS, remote sensing, environmental science, geography or related field - PhD preferred but not required - Knowledge of/experience with landslide and earthquake mapping
