Gender equality is part of MDF's daily work and something we strive for. We would like to know the current state of research on gender equality at the international level, the related adjustments, and the policies that have been developed to address this issue in order to inform the development of our local activities. This project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5), which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. In the realm of international relations, gender equality is not just a fundamental human right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.

This research project seeks to explore the current trends and challenges in achieving gender equality within international relations and to propose effective policies for addressing these issues. By examining the role of women in diplomacy, international organisations, and global governance, the research will provide valuable insights into how gender dynamics shape international affairs and how policies can be designed to promote greater gender parity in these spheres.

To create a comprehensive research proposal on this topic, we are assembling a team of four online volunteers, each with a specific role:

  1. Literature Review: This volunteer will be responsible for conducting an extensive review of existing literature on gender equality in international relations. They will gather and analyse academic papers, reports, and other relevant publications to identify key trends, challenges, and policy implications.

  2. Data Analyst and Statistics: Tasked with compiling and analysing data on gender representation in international relations, this volunteer will focus on statistical trends and patterns. They will use this data to provide a quantitative foundation for the research proposal, identifying areas where gender disparities are most pronounced.

  3. Policy Analysis: This volunteer will concentrate on existing policies and initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality in international relations. They will evaluate the effectiveness of these measures and identify best practices and areas for improvement.

  4. Proposal Writing: The final member of the team will be responsible for synthesising the work of the other volunteers into a cohesive research proposal. They will ensure that the proposal is well-structured, clearly articulated, and presents a compelling case for further research into gender equality in international relations.

Each volunteer will bring their expertise to this project, contributing to a research proposal that will provide valuable insights and recommendations for advancing gender equality in the field of international relations, in line with SDG 5.

  1. Experience in conducting literature reviews and academic research.
  2. Proficiency in data analysis.
  3. Knowledge of gender equality policies and international relations.
  4. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  5. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
