How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Corporate Fundraising Officer (Acquisition), the Fundrasing Associate will support the Corporate Alliance Acquisition (new business) team on developing new alliances with companies from different sectors and the supervisor on leading the consultive council functions. The role will have the objective to support the leverage of the flexible or non-fixed income fundraising potential to support both, the local and global UNICEF Programme.

This include:

Implementation of corporate alliances and other acquisition campaigns:

  • Map new corporate partnership opportunities, initiate contact with the companies’ focal points, and participate in the alliances’ prospecting processes, per the (Resources, Mobilization & Partnership) RM&P Guidelines and the overall Fundraising Unit’s Strategy and action plan.
  • Proceed with Geneva clearance process on potential and current donor companies per UNICEF Intranet (Guidelines and Formats) on a weekly basis;
  • Schedule meetings and follow-up contacts with the companies in a fast pace; prepare and internally/externally approve the partnership contract; and keep corporate prospection planning documents update;
  • Gather information around de program implementation and follow up the delivering of annual reports to the partners and support in the negotiation of renewal focusing on the best results for UNICEF and as per Officer’s orientation;
  • Approach partners during emergency campaigns to explore additional fundraising opportunities;
  • Fortnightly, support plan and project pitches and campaigns with Marketing Services support and other related areas, including outsourced agencies.
  • Support on the development of the bimonthly newsletter.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Continuously monitor campaign goals and marketing metrics related to the alliance under her/his responsibility; Conduct the target and results analysis and control.
  • Compile lessons learned and support the review of successful and unsuccessful campaigns.

Advisory Consultive Council

  • Schedule, organize and follow up of at least 4 meetings a year, including all the logistics and organizational demands;
  • Support the NO2 Officer, on the mapping of potential new candidates;
  • Maintain permanent contact with the counselors’ assistants;
  • Coordinate meeting agendas with the NO2, Chief of São Paulo Office, Representative and PFP Chief to align agenda, materials and other related aspects;
  • Liaise with other UNICEF staff to provide necessary materials to the counselors;
  • Prepare the minutes during the meetings, circulate them internally for review by the UNICEF team involved with the agenda and, subsequently, share with members; Doo all necessary follow-up on matters agreed during the meeting with appointed members;
  • Support on the organization of events.
  • Coordinate contact and organization for the participation of counselors in local and global UNICEF events, like UNGA, PFP Brazil events, Field Trip, etc.

National PFP activities supported

  • Support the organization of meetings and events for RM&P whenever demanded by the NO2 officer and/or the head of RM&P, mainly but not exclusively in São Paulo:
  • Identifying prospects, with their contact details collected and first approach done;

Suppliers relationship:

  • Assist and support in developing, drafting and maintaining contract information, monitoring reports and relationships with current and new providers involved in the high value audiences through UNICEF;
  • Assist the development of new providers and follow up biding processes with Operations Sector / RM&P Associate as required to support the NO2 and even the leader of the RM&P area;
  • Assist in drafting and editing contracts, amendments and other documents as appropriate in support to the NO2 and even the leader of the RM&P area;
  • Ensure that the providers’ payments are due and delivered on time.
  • Support with transportation, purchase and shipping of materials, preparation of appropriate spaces for meetings and events in the necessary location, UNICEF rules for those processes;

Assignments of additional administrative duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting in any necessary administrative and/or operational activity demanded by the NO2 Officer and/or the RM&P leader.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Completion of secondary education preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization. University Degree preferably in Business Administration, International Relations, Publicity or Marketing is desirable.

Minimum 6 years of professional experience related to corporate fundraising, social investment, partnership development, sponsorship, business development, publicity, project promotion, events, relationship with high value audience.

Proficiency in English and Fluency in Portuguese is required. Knowledge of Spanish will be considered as an asset.
