ACTED HQ
Acted’s head office was set up in Paris in 2000 in order to coordinate the organisation’s activities on a global scale. Today, the head office employs 110 people in the HR, Finance, Programmes, Audit, Security, Logistics & Systems and Communications departments. These departments support the 42 Country Directorates. The head office also acts as a focal point for Acted’s management, namely the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development and the fifteen members of the Board of Directors.
You will be in charge of
The HQ Logistics Intern will assist the Operations Department in the management of routine validations for a number of countries and support the development and implementation of logistics tools and procedures. From time to time, the Logistics Intern may take on operational functions to deal with very specific situations: assisting in the response to certain humanitarian crises, carrying out remote training missions for logistics teams in the field, supporting the preparation of external audits for the logistics department, participating in the development of tools and procedures with other services/departments if related to logistics, etc.
Main duties:
- Support for the collection and review of procurement plans and waiver requests (40%);
- Publication of tenders on line and follow up of the related award of contracts (25%);
- Follow-up and analysis of monthly country logistics reports (10%);
- Support to Grant Management on logistical aspects (10%);
- Filing and archiving of the logistics department (5%);
- Support for the development of logistics tools and procedures (10%).
Expected skills and qualifications
- Engineering or business school, minimum level BAC + 4 completed;
- Knowledge of logistics / supply chain concepts and related experience;
- Analytical & synthetical skills, ability to manage priorities, multitasking abilities, rigor;
- Strong interest in operational procedures and processes;
- Autonomy, reactivity, ability to propose solutions, creativity and dynamism;
- Fluency in English required;
- Essential computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point;
- Strong interest in humanitarian work and sharing ACTED’s values.
