Finance Systems Lead

Why we are recruiting

The World Economic Forum is seeking a Finance Systems Manager to oversee, maintain, and enhance our accounting, procurement, and other finance systems. Leverage system expertise and process excellence and partnering with our Finance teams, this role is responsible to define and implement a comprehensive systems strategy, ensuring our systems and processes meet the evolving needs of our organization.

Reporting lines and interactions

Reporting to the Head of IT Business Services, this role will collaborate closely with the Finance, Procurement, Technology delivery teams, and external software and support providers to ensure smooth operation, integration, and optimization of finance systems.

Main responsibilities

Project Management & Strategic Planning

  • In partnership with Finance, develop and implement a comprehensive financial systems strategy and implementation roadmap.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage finance systems to continuously enhance efficiency, accuracy, and integration with other platforms.
  • Manage product and project lifecycles, understanding business needs, identifying, and prioritizing new requirements and delivering actionable solutions.
  • Drive business process automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workload.

System Administration and Support:

  • Administer finance and procurement systems, with support from internal and external delivery teams for complex configuration and development.
  • Responsible for business process design driving operational excellence, systems configuration, and data analytics.

Data Governance and Reporting strategy

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and KPIs to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Design and manage reporting capabilities to support the business operations and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and implement solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on data governance and reporting tools.

Requirements and experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in finance systems implementation and support
  • Proven accounting, management reporting, and financial planning knowledge, with a focus on processes optimization and implementing automation solutions.
  • Extensive Project Management, business analysis, and process mapping experience, PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification a plus
  • Experience in data governance, reporting, and analytics within finance domain
  • Highly analytical, structured approach to analysis, communication, and data presentation, with a focus on process improvement and providing insights.
  • Self-motivated with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Certinia/FinancialForce, Concur, Tableau, Power BI a plus
