Overview

Ensure compliance with accounting policies and support financial activities

You have:

  • Two years of post-secondary education or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or bookkeeping, preferably non-profit.
  • Strong commitment to the success of the IRC mission while adhering to its values.
  • Solid computer-based accounting skills with preference for ERP software experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet.
  • Proven track record of working as a team member in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work optimally with remote teams through various correspondence methods.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Major Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with IRC’s accounting policies and procedures, as well as generally accepted accounting principles and donor requirements, for both the office and donors - Coordinate the implementation of IRC's internal control procedures to safeguard the organization's assets. - Support daily financial activities: - Operate effectively in IRC’s proprietary Integra ERP financial accounting system - Review payments requests by staff for accuracy, resolve any discrepancies and submit through workflow - Prepare and upload journal entries - Resolve journal entry discrepancies - Assist in month-end/year-end closing tasks: - Review, reconcile and post in-kind contributions and volunteer hours in accordance with grant requirements - Reconcile various accounts - Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of donor policies, regulations, and procedures, and share this knowledge with the programs team - Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

- Two (2) years of post-secondary education or equivalent experience working in accounting, finance or bookkeeping, preferably in a non-profit setting - Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality as defined in the IRC Way - Solid computer-based accounting skills with a preference for ERP software system experience - Proficient in general office software programs like MS Word, Excel, email, and internet - Proven track record to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively - Ability to optimally work with remote teams through telephone, email, videoconference, and other methods of correspondence - Fluency in English, written and spoken

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
