Support essential accounting functions including reporting and reconciliation.

You have:

  • Strong Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software such as Microsoft 365 a plus.
  • Associate degree in business, finance, or accounting is strongly preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in a similar function.
  • Ability to carry out work with a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure meet deadlines, and be well organized.
  • Strong communication skills.

The Finance Assistant is responsible for essential accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable support, report reconciliation, fund tracking, month-end, and adjusting journal entries. This position supports Silver Spring functions. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, reporting to the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

- Review accounting transactions to ensure proper coding and record transactions within IRC’s accounting software. - Prepare, review, and approve journal entries/invoice journals in Integra (Microsoft Dynamics 365), including staff expense management reports and reimbursements. - Review weekly spending reports in the Maryland office for R&P, and MG and work with caseworkers to resolve discrepancies. - Review and approve client payment requests to load onto USIO prepaid cards. - Prepare journal entries for deposits - Prepare and submit deposit and customer payment journals. - Review and approve monthly TER expense reports. - Reconcile monthly P-card statements. - Reconcile monthly USIO payments. - Prepare DynAd journal entries for RTCA Program. - Prepare DynAd journal entries for Contribution in Kind (CIK) Donations. - Prepare weekly ACH Rent Tracker for the program team. - Assist in preparing backup for monthly Donor Invoices. - Other projects and assignments as needed.

- Professional IRC office environment - Must be comfortable working in front of the computer and with data for long periods of time.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
