The incumbent provides support on matters of safety and security with the ultimate goal of keeping UNESCO personnel and office facilities safe and secure. The incumbent shall: - In coordination with the Administrative Officer, assist with consolidation and dissemination of relevant security information. - Maintain address and telephone lists for UNESCO staff based in the area of responsibility, including staff on mission status. - Ensure maps showing the locations of staff residences are regularly updated, and available to all senior management. - Monitor and facilitate the implementation of UNESCO and UNSMS security policies. - Assist with the preparation of any security related documents, in accordance with UNESCO mandate and UNSMS security policies and guidelines. - Provide support in organizing and conducting security awareness and preparedness activities. Provide security orientation to the office staff and to staff on mission status. - Assist in the preparation, maintenance and distribution of security guidelines to all staff in relation to security measures, standards and policy. - Liaise and exchange security-related information with UNDSS and other UN agencies in the area. Without any prejudice of UNESCO framework of accountability, supports the Designated Official in the context of the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) structures and policies, under the coordination of the local Principal/Chief/Security Advisor, as required. - Conduct risk-based security surveys of offices and other mission facilities .
