Overview
Provide technical assistance and training to beginning farmers in Central Virginia.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Food Systems, Environmental Education, Public Health, Community or International Development, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or a related field, including hands-on farm operations, marketing, small business development, or food safety compliance.
- Solid understanding of sustainable agriculture and small business development principles.
- Familiarity with the Central Virginia food system, including connections with local farmers markets, food service providers, distributors, chefs and food retailers.
- Strong communication, instructional, and facilitation skills for working with multicultural and limited-English adult learners.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and report on both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of work independently within established program frameworks.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; bilingual ability in a language spoken by the local refugee community is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license, active insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
