Overview
Assist in grant management and proposal development
You have:
- Currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate student in a relevant field.
- Comfort with research, organizing content, and liaising with staff.
- Strong writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills.
- Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Must submit intern hours on volunteer portal.
- Must pass a background check.
- Commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Work closely with the Senior Development Management and Grants Coordinator to review IRC Atlanta’s donor prospecting strategy. - Grow a database for opportunities identified and conduct ongoing research related to the pre-award grant opportunities. - Update grants calendar regularly. - Attend grants webinars and information sessions. - Draft grant proposal for Grant Coordinator or Senior Development manager review. - Provide support as needed in other areas of identified projects. - Submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard. - Other duties as assigned
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Student will gain experience in grant management, which is a crucial skill to move up in the non-profit sector. 2. Student will learn more about the pre-award process for building a funding portfolio in a non-profit. 3. Student will learn the basics of proposal development and play a key role in ensuring proactive responses to business development needs. 4. Student will develop an in-depth understanding of IRC Resettlement, Asylum, & Integration programming. 5. Student will gain experience drafting and writing grants of aligned projects.
Qualifications - Currently enrolled graduate student or undergraduate student in a related field of International Relations/Development, Social Work, Global Human resources, Learning and Development; Non-Profit Management, International Business, or other relevant fields. - Comfort with research, organizing content, and liaising with staff. - Strong writing skills. - Excellent organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate. - Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs - English fluency is required.

The is an in-person position. This position will report to the Pre-Award Grants Coordinator.
