Overview

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in data management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and contribute to team success.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Excel or SPSS.
  • A strong commitment to gender equality and youth inclusion initiatives.

Contract

This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

This volunteer assignment is supported by the Swiss Embassy in Tunisia as part of an initiative in partnership with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program to enhance youth inclusion, with a focus on the inclusion of young people with disabilities (2024-2026). Therefore, applications from young people with disabilities who meet the required qualifications are strongly encouraged.

As part of its strategic priorities, UNFPA Tunisia places a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making, evidence generation, and results-based programming. With the country office entering a new programmatic cycle, the ability to manage, analyze, and visualize data is essential for informing programs on sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, youth, and demographic resilience. To support this approach, the UNFPA Tunisia office seeks a motivated UN Youth Volunteer to contribute to the collection, analysis, and reporting of programmatic and national data, ensuring its effective use for internal learning and external communication.

Under the supervision of the Youth Programme Consultant and the P&D Programme consultant, the UN Volunteer Evidence, Insights & Data Assistant will: 1. Support the collection and organization of program-related data, including SRHR, GBV, youth participation, and other UNFPA thematic areas. 2. Assist in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to help identify trends, gaps, and progress toward national and UNFPA indicators. 3. Contribute to the design of dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel) to make data accessible and actionable for different users. 4. Help produce situation updates, thematic snapshots, and summaries of key indicators for internal reporting and partner engagement. 5. Contribute to research design support, including survey formatting, translation of tools, pre-testing, and coding of responses. 6. Help document good practices, lessons learned, and data-driven insights from ongoing interventions.

• Data management, data analysis, and reporting, especially in supporting program-matic planning or monitoring. • Ability to transform raw data into user-friendly formats (dashboards, visual summar-ies, reports) to guide program teams and decision-makers. • Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, SPSS, KoboToolbox, or similar plat-forms for data analysis and visualization. • Exposure to using evidence to support public health, gender, youth, or development programs is a strong advantage. • Knowledge of basic monitoring and evaluation (M&E) concepts and data quality as-surance processes is desirable. • Strong interest in translating data into actionable insights to improve development out-comes.

UN Youth Volunteer gets the following package: • Volunteer Living Allowance (around 1788.53 TND./Month) • Entry Lump-Sum = USD 400 (one-time payment paid in TND) • Comprehensive coverage for health, life and malicious acts for the UN Volunteer only. • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment) TND 186.3 for each month served, paid on completion of contract. • Access to UNV E-Campus for training and learning including access to LinkedIn learning.
