About the Role

The Events and Programming Strategy Lead is responsible for developing and executing a cohesive strategy for events and programming that supports the Centre for Nature and Climate’s mission and strategic objectives.

This role serves as the strategic driver behind CNC’s success at key events, translating thematic and institutional priorities into compelling, inclusive, and high-quality programming. The Events and Programming Strategy Lead works closely with CNC leadership, initiative teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure events and programs deliver meaningful impact, stakeholder value, and measurable outcomes. This role will have managerial responsibility of 1 full-time employee.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning

  • Develop and own the overarching strategy for events and programming for Centre for Nature and Climate
  • Create, maintain, and oversee the CNC events calendar and planning processes, ensuring coordination across initiatives and teams.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and ROI of events and programs.
  • In close partnership with Head, CNC Operations design a training module for events excellence for CNC staff

2. Event Management Oversight

  • Lead the planning and execution of institutional Forum events and priority non-Forum events relevant to CNC’s mandate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including communications and operations
  • Oversee event timelines, logistics, and resources, ensuring delivery against objectives and constraints.

3. Stakeholder & Partner Engagement

  • Collaborate with Global Programming Group on priority and other relevant internal stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with CNC colleagues to translate initiative content into programming and key sessions
  • Foster relationships with speakers, venues, and partner organizations.

Requirements and Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in events strategy, programming, convenings, or experiential engagement.
