Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

UNDP and partners – including other UN agencies and national governments - are collaborating to conduct national Investment Cases on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). The aim of these investment cases is to estimate the burden of NTDs and estimate the impact of scaled-up action. The investment cases can be used as an advocacy piece for policymakers, as well as for the Ministry of Health to present to non-health ministries.

UNDP is looking for an Online Volunteer with strong expertise in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) or epidemiology, to assist the team in the development of a national investment case on NTDs.

The Online Volunteer will be asked to conduct several tasks, namely:

  • Familiarize themselves with the Excel-based NTD tool.
  • Analyze and interpret the results generated by the tool.
  • Extract results from the tool and incorporate them into a report.
  • Conduct a literature review on the economic modelling of schistosomiasis to support incorporating this disease in the existing tool.
  • Improve the tool to make it more user friendly.

The Online Volunteer will work under the supervision of UNDP economists and policy analysts but is expected to work independently throughout the Online Volunteering assignment.

Strong Excel and modelling skills are necessary for this Online Volunteering position. Background in economic modelling, epidemiology, health economics, statistics, or a related field is desired.

Applicants are encouraged to showcase their proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience in NTDs or health economic modelling when submitting their applications.
