English to French Translation: Violence Prevention in Times of COVID-19

The Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility is looking for two Online Volunteers to translate and proofread three documents from English to French: two Word documents with 5 pages in total and one Excel document with 2 sheets. The documents are about violence prevention in humanitarian settings in times of COVID-19. The translation would need to be completed by 27 August by CET midnight. And then the proofreading would need to be completed by 31 August CET 6 P.M.. The Online Volunteers will be able to strengthen their knowledge on violence prevention during the process of translation and proofreading. The work of the Online Volunteers is highly valuable and will allow to make the documents available in additional languages.

  Child Protection is an Area of Responsibility (AoR) within the Global Protection Cluster. The Global CP AoR aims at ensuring that the efforts of national and international humanitarian actors to protect children are well coordinated, achieving maximum quality and impact. The Global CP AoR is seeking the support of two Online Volunteers to make the documents available in French. The Online Volunteers' work will thus be highly valuable.

• 20+ hours per week / 1 weeks

  Candidates should be fluent in English and French. A background in translation or humanitarian action is an advantage. Previous translation experience of translating from English to French (especially documents related to humanitarian action) is an asset. The volunteer needs to be able to work under tight deadlines. Applicants may be asked to translate a text as part of the selection process.
