The paper is part of a research project that aims to investigate the configuration of countries' institutions, public policies, and governance arrangements and how they influence the innovation systems' performance and the levels of economic development. More specifically, the paper (around 6000 words) that needs English proofreading employs descriptive data analysis and longitudinal regression models, using the data from the Global Innovation Index (GII), to compare individual and cross-regionally the innovation systems in terms of structure and performance. The selected online volunteers will receive the text as soon as the selection is finished. Any support will be provided via email. To help the selection process, a short text for translation will be sent to the shortlisted candidates in order to help the opportunity's assessment.

The Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea) is a public institution that provides technical support to the federal government with regard to public policies: fiscal, social and economic. Ipea’s mission is to “enhance public policies that are essential to Brazilian development by producing and disseminating knowledge and by advising the state in its strategic decisions.” Its structure is divided into departments dedicated to different studies and policies. In this context, the paper submitted for proofreading is part of an ongoing broad research Project that aims to investigate the configuration of countries' institutions, public policies, and governance arrangements and how they influence the innovation systems' performance and the levels of economic development.
