Overview
Assist in ESOL classes and support students
You have:
- Preferred availability for class times- Monday-Thursday 9:30am-11am
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
- Patient, reliable, and flexible
- Exposure to global environments and languages is a plus
- Personal vehicle is helpful on occasion
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend ESOL and Cultural Orientation classes on designated days
- Arrive a few minutes early to check in with teacher about the day’s classroom activities
- Assist struggling students with class assignments.
- Assist with set-up and tear-down during Cultural Orientation
- Provide supervision for young children when present.
- Help integrate digital literacy in the classroom
- Other duties as assigned
- Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard.
Qualifications - Preferred availability for class times- Monday-Thursday 9:30am-11am
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
- Patient, reliable, and flexible
- Exposure to global environments and languages is a plus.
- While a personal vehicle is not required, it would be helpful on occasion.
This position is unpaid and reports to the Adult Education Specialist.
