1. Organizational Context

a. Organizational Setting

The Employee Experience Project Officer position is located in the Employee Experience Unit of the Talent Management Service, in the Human Resources Management Department (HRMD). The purpose of the Talent Management Service is to prepare a future-ready and skilled workforce. Through the effective recruitment, deployment, development and retention of WIPO's workforce, the Talent Management Service contributes to the delivery of an agile, innovative workforce whose performance is aligned with WIPO's short and long-term goals and where talent management delivers tangible results that positively affect engagement.

b. Purpose Statement

The Employee Experience Project Officer contributes to transforming the work culture at WIPO by facilitating the effective design, development and implementation of systems, programs, projects and initiatives related to various topics such as performance management, inclusion, internal mobility, staff development and engagement. These interventions ensure alignment to Organizational priorities, integrate with the other HR pillars, and use an employee-centric approach.

c. Reporting Lines

The Employee Experience reports to the Employee Experience Manager and cooperates closely with HR Business Partners in Talent Services, the Data ad Technology Unit in HR Operations, along with the Media and News Division, IT, Senior leaders, Managers, Employees and external providers.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:

a. Working closely with talent business partners, the Data and Technology Unit and the business, assist in identifying, creating, and implementing employee experience initiatives using data and feedback to improve the overall experience of the organization's workforce.

b. Support project management initiatives including the creation of project plans, capturing and embedding key employee and business priorities, proactively managing and mitigating risk, creating linkages between and collecting feedback from key stakeholders, ensuring clear documentation that supports project milestones, and building in feedback and data loops to continuously improve projects.

c. Working closely with the Data and Technology Unit, assist in the selection, implementation and improvement of IT tools/platforms to support talent initiatives in the Organization.

d. Work closely with the Data and Technology Unit to collect, interpret and analyze talent data to help inform decision-making on HR related initiatives and processes.

e. Contribute to change and engagement approaches, including communication and capacity buildings plans in close liaison with relevant stakeholders.

f. Develop and nurture relevant networks keeping abreast of developments and best practices of other organizations and latest research in the applicable subject matter. Forge effective partnerships internally and externally ensuring excellent stakeholder engagement to keep abreast of business and people developments, and ensure that programs, projects and initiatives meet evolving business/people needs.

g. Undertake other tasks as required.

3. Requirements

Education (Essential)

First-level university degree in Human Resources management, communications, public or business administration, law, science, social sciences or related field.

Education (Desirable)

Advanced university degree in Human Resources Management, Economics, Social Sciences, Sciences, Public or Business administration or related field.

Training/Certification in Project management.

Training/Certification in HR Analytics.

Experience (Essential)

At least six years of relevant professional work experience in project management, including managing risks and reporting, drafting briefing papers and presentations, ideally including experience at the international level.

Experience in using feedback and data to make informed project recommendations.

Experience (Desirable)

Experience in implementing talent platforms (ERPs, or point solutions like learning, performance or mobility platforms).

Experience in human resources management or communication and marketing area.

Experience in creating and implementing change, communication or engagement plans to transform work culture.

Language (Essential)

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

Language (Desirable)

Knowledge of other WIPO official languages, particularly French.

Job Related Competencies (Essential)

Excellent communication and engagement skills with an ability to forge and retain effective collaborative relationships.

Proficiency with digital tools.

Ability to read and apply data, metrics and KPIs.

Demonstrated ability to research and attain knowledge in new and emerging areas related to employee experience, communications and technology for relevant project.

Competent user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), the internet and information systems, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technology.

Annual salary****:

Total annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes and before medical insurance and pension fund deductions) in US dollars and a post adjustment. Please note that this estimate is for information only. The post adjustment multiplier (cost of living allowance) is variable and subject to change (increase or decrease) without notice. The figures quoted below are based on the July 2024 rate of 89.2%
