Expected duration The proposed individual contractor will be hired as soon as possible for 6 months.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping and special political missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies Funds and Programs.

This locally recruited position is in the Infrastructure Cell of Campus Support Unit, within the Central Service (CS), at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy.

The incumbent reports to and works under the supervision of the Chief Campus Support Unit.

The Infrastructure Cell of Campus Support, responsible for the maintenance of UNGSC facilities and infrastructure, is seeking for qualified electricians to perform the following installations:

- Replacement External led Lights at Bldg A, 16, 177, 152, 254 and pavilion area; - Replacement of Industrial Electrical Sockets at building 152 and 257; - Installation External Electrical Panel at parking area of Bldg. 154; - Installation of two (2) Boxes at the external Cabin 3MW; - Installation of protection Fuses to the Inverters of the Photovoltaic System at Bldg B; - Replacement of internal movement detectors in eight bldgs; - Replacement of 20 emergency lights; - Installation of 3 Smart System on air conditioning system.

Each Individual Contractor will:

- Read blueprints and technical diagrams; - Install wiring, control, and lighting systems; - Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers; - Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices; - Replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools; - Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code; - Direct and train workers to install and repair electrical wiring or equipment; - Install external LED lights; - Install motion detectors; - Install FRIM sensors to water and electric meters; - Implement and comply with all health and safety precautions; - Assist the electrical team in any other task, as required.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Valid driving license is required. Academic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of working experience as Electrician in Engineering Field or related area is required. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position knowledge of English is required.
