You have:
- A bachelor's degree is a MUST in education, social work, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior-level project implementation position in managing education programmes in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Technical CC Education expertise, children, youth, adult and basic education activities are preferred.
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
- Experience in managing at least 2 senior staff (e.g. Project Coordinator/Team leaders/Technical Officers).
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with managing youth programmes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of INEE Minimum Standards and humanitarian principles.
- Experience with urban/rural programming, assessments and project start-ups.
- Experience in local partnership preferred.
- Solid interpersonal and teamwork skills; collaborative approach. Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential.
- Knowledge of South and Central Syria is highly desirable.

What we are looking for
NRC Syria looking for an Education Project Manager to join the South-Central Area Office. The role holder will be responsible for responsible for implementing the delegated Education project portfolio in Syria, while adhering to NRC's governance protocols and principles for education projects, as well as related advocacy and coordination activities. Additionally, they will manage and supervise all educational activities in the area office from inception to completion.

What you will do
The role will have some of the following main specific responsibilities:
- Ensure the use of existing monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) processes with the Education team and collaborate with the Area Office and Country Office to improve MEL tools to support a responsive and effective programming approach.
- Ensure respect of the NRC partnership toolkit procedures, the integration of partners into strategy and programme planning and work with partner staff to build their capacity in programme development, management and monitoring and evaluation within agreed education projects.
- Ensure quality control of education activities through the development and rollout of output and outcome level monitoring and evaluation tools, guidelines and procedures.
- Support and implement NRC referral mechanism and take proper actions to ensure that the referral system is functioning in the best interest of project participants as per NRC’s referral Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assess trends and changes in the context and assess the needs of children and youth in order to identify gaps in education service provision and identify ways to better assist people in need.
- Oversee and is responsible for Safe and inclusive programming (SIP) guidelines in the NRC’s related activities as per NRC’s guidelines and ensure that all breaches/concerns reported are properly resolved.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals in coordination with relevant staff members.
- Closely coordinate with other CCs to maximise integrated programming.
- Ensure appropriate Financial and Logistical NRC systems/ procedures are adhered to within the Education team (including supply chain management).
- Ensure timely and accurate development of procurement plans, recruitment plans, and spending plans per project and ensure the same is shared with relevant support colleagues.

- Travel: 40% within areas of operation.
