Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of the Education Officer position is to implement delegated Education project portfolio, Education Officer will help in implementation and monitor NRC’s Education Projects in Herat Province and it’s all districts. The aim of NRC’s Education programme is to enable vulnerable, displaced, returnee and host community children and youth have access to quality education in a protective environment.

Community Based Education (CBE), Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP), Education First Phase Response (EFPR) and Education in Emergency (EiE) is the main components of Education Projects in target provinces of west Region. In addition, providing opportunities to enrol out of school’s children to the CBE and ALP classes to supporting governmental Hub Schools and strengthen their capacity to host the IDP, Returnee and host community out-of-school children to continue their Education in upper level.

The Education Officer will report to Education Coordinator/ and working under the guidance of Education project coordinator. He/ she will provide support and lead the Education team in field to take the active role on implementation and monitoring of projects. He/ She will play a technically supporting role in coordinating, setting up and implementing all Education Project activities in Herat province during 2022, working closely with the Education technical assistants and Education Supervisors (CBWs) in Herat province. He/ she will be expected to spend up to 50% of his/ her time in the field, providing technical support to the team, visiting partners and local authorities etc.
