You have:
- Undergraduate Degree in Adult Education or related field preferred, Masters Preferred.
- ESL certification such as TESOL Preferred.
- 1-2 years+ relevant work experience in VESL Instruction/Adult Education, or another relevant field preferred.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and cultural sensitivity required.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
- Experience working with adult learners from a variety of cultural and linguistic groups required, work with refugee populations desirable.
- Experience developing and providing orientations and training.
- Experience designing curriculum and integrating technology into teaching desired.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake, assessment and provide program orientation to clients eligible for employment services. Develop comprehensive employment plans and budget strategies for each employable adult. Provide job readiness and job search coaching and connect clients with job opportunities. - Develop and cultivate long term relationships with area employers and staffing agencies to identify appropriate employment opportunities for clients. - Assist clients and employers as necessary with post-placement issues and continuing employment needs. - Monitor client job performance, wage levels, and related metrics. - Coordinate adult school assessments, enrollments, and transportation orientation to/from school - Support clients with securing the necessary textbooks, technology, and supplies needed to attend class (virtually or in-person) - Conduct 90-Day retention checks on both employment and education placements; ensure clients are enrolling into the subsequent semester of classes - Detail each client interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client information in database(s) and assist with tracking and reporting as needed. - Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients. - Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area. - May train and lead the activities of support staff, volunteers, and interns. - Support VESL instructor as needed - Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Excellent cross-cultural communication and cultural sensitivity required. - Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills. - Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment. - Experience working with adult learners from a variety of cultural and linguistic groups, and with multiple levels of English language skill required, work with refugee populations desirable. - Experience developing and providing orientations and training. - Experience designing curriculum and integrating technology into teaching desired. - Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated success in developing and managing multiple projects and activities. - Highly organized, attentive to detail, responsible, and flexible: able to maintain responsibility for multiple tasks in the context of a diverse, fast-paced work environment. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member. - Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel. - Experience working with underserved populations preferred.
Scheduling
This position is currently scheduled for 26.25 working hours per week. The preferred schedule for this role is: Tuesdays 8AM-12PM & Wednesday – Friday 8AM – 4PM. Pending funding availability, this position may become full-time (37.5 working hours / week) upon mutual agreement.
Working Environment: Standard office work environment.
