You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, Journalism or any other related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in copy editing, proofreading documents.
- Experience editing documents related to development, public policy, or international organizations is preferred.
- Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills in both Arabic & English are required.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines amending the drafts based on the team’s feedback.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational, coordination and creativity skills.
Contract
This is a NPSA-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as National Personnel Services Agreement. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education. More about NPSA-6 contracts.

To ensure accuracy and consistency, UNDP requires professional Arabic copy editing services for various documents, reports, communications, and other materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
UNDP Kuwait requires the services of a professional editor to provide high-quality editing services for various documents, reports, communications, and other materials in Arabic. The consultant will work closely with the UNDP team to edit material covering various thematic areas, including governance, climate action, social inclusion, and youth empowerment.
As such, the selected individual consultant will be responsible for providing the services outlined below:
- Edit and proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency;
- Check for logical flow and organization of content;
- Ensure clarity and coherence of the text;
- Ensure that all documents adhere to UNDP’s terminology, and branding requirements;
- Maintain consistency in language and tone across various materials;

Upon submission of the edited documents, the consultant will receive feedback from the team within 2 working days. It is expected from the consultant to submit edited versions within 2 working days after receiving comments.
The editor must maintain the confidentiality of all documents and information provided by UNDP during the course of the contract.
The Editor will report to the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Kuwait.
