Business failures have obviously negative impacts on entrepreneurs and their families. However, these failures also impact the overall economy and employment rates, which can impact society through high levels of unemployment, reduced government spending on basic services, and instability.
Providing insight and understanding AAE publishes articles on its website (https://aaeafrica.org) to provide entrepreneurs insights on the business environment in Africa. The target audiences for these articles are entrepreneurs, government departments, civil society and donor agencies. The goal is to help these audiences make informed decisions about how to support business, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Articles often include primary sources, such as interviews, and secondary data sources. As of February 2024, over 200 articles have been published, covering a variety of issues across all African countries.
