UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) supports 24 country offices implement programmes to alleviate poverty and reduce income parity, while improving gender parity and governance, and sustainable management of the natural resources.

The Regional Communications team invites UN Online Volunteers to contribute to the work of UNDP in Asia and the Pacific by supporting UNDP offices to ensure the documents are of highest quality when shared with partners, donors and the public. Through stronger communications, UNDP showcases the progress towards SDGs, highlight donor and partner contributions in our work and promote cross-cutting issues of innovation, digitalization and inclusion across all UNDP's programmes.

We are seeking the support of Online Volunteers with English proofreading experience to edit and proofread draft project documents, project proposals and communication and knowledge products of up to 50-60 pages. The Volunteers are requested to copyediting the documents to make the language more reader-friendly without diluting or changing technical content of documents, and provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the style, tone, flow and coherence of documents. Consultations with UNVs will be done by email through the Communications team in BRH, including feedback iterations and on a deadline for finalizing the mentioned documents. Each Volunteer will take up to 10 documents maximum during the 12 week period, depending on requests from UNDP country offices. The country offices will fully credit Online Volunteers on the final product. *Some of these documents are internal, therefore may not be available externally.

A first-level degree in English, journalism, or communications with a Masters' degree preferred. Demonstrated experience in editing research papers, news stories or press releases is essential. Fluency in English - both speaking and grammar. Strong background in editing, proofreading, either in journalism in development work, in non-profit organizations is an asset.
