UN-Habitat Iraq is publishing a report analyzing obstacles faced by returnees in Iraq and recommending solutions to address them. The report was originally drafted in Arabic and was translated into English. The Volunteer is expected to edit the English version of the report and make sure the text is properly formatted with consistency in the terminologies used. No need for the Volunteer to have a specific expertise/knowledge on Iraq or on displacement/returns, but it will be an added advantage if the Volunteer is familiar with Arabic, so that he/she can cross-check the English translation with the original Arabic text if and when needed. The English version of the report is 79 pages including cover page, table of contents, maps and photos.

  • 11-20 hours per week / 3 weeks

The Volunteer is expected to be a native English speaker with excellent English editing and proof-reading skills. Familiarity with Arabic will be an added advantage, as the report was originally drafted in Arabic and translated into English.
