  • Fluency (reading and writing) in Arabic and Turkish, English is a strong asset

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Economic Recovery Assistant – Self-Employment (Productive Asset Support)

*​***About the Job**

The role involves supporting the Team Leader - Economic Recovery with the implementation of high quality productive assets support service for self-employment applicants of both home-based-businesses and micro/small enterprises.

You will be asked to ensure planning, implementation and follow up of productive assets support services in a timely manner.

Geographic scope: Kahramanmaraş Field Office

This role has field focus and will ensure compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of field or area strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to field operations while overseeing day to day activities implementation.

Main responsibilities

Program and Activities (70%)

  • Work in close cooperation with intake and database assistants to identify individuals who demonstrate interest, skills, and working experience and want to start-up or restore their businesses.
  • Conduct one-on-one assessments with potential beneficiaries to determine their eligibility and motivation to the business skills training, and record information in online database.
  • In coordination with the Business Trainer of the partner organization, facilitate the planning and organization of business skills training with selected beneficiaries and ensure pre-/post-tests and evaluations are completed and results are collected and saved in the SharePoint folder.
  • Under the supervision of self-employment and BDS officer, assist beneficiaries in developing business plans through answering their questions, addressing their concerns, facilitating communication with the business trainer.
  • Participate in grant selection committee to evaluate businesses proposals.
  • Under the supervision of self-employment and BDS officer, draft the procurement requests based on beneficiaries’ demands and liaise with supply chain department to guarantee the accuracy in quantity and quality of the requested items.
  • Ensure the procured items are delivered to the pre-specified locations.
  • Under the supervision of BDS officer liaise between the financial consultancy firms and targeted beneficiaries to complete the business registration process.

General Programming and Operations (20%)

  • Engage in outreach activities with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts.
  • Identify and discuss with employability and BDS officers the schedule of the business skills trainings to ensure a flexible and relevant implementation based on the needs of beneficiaries and market demand/dynamic
  • Support economic recovery team to organize networking and outreach events and facilitate the participation of job seekers and private companies

Monitoring & Evaluation (10%)

  • Conduct field visits to monitor beneficiaries’ businesses, income generated etc., with the M&E team
  • Work closely with the monitoring team on the timely monitoring and evaluation of all components – information, beneficiary selection, beneficiary feedback about activities, etc.
  • Participate in the internal evaluation of the program.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have university degree in business administration, economics, marketing, and related field.
