Overview

Manage clients for needs assessments and provide necessary support and services.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, international studies or related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of case management or social service experience with similar populations and/or client needs required.
  • Fluent in English required, both spoken and written; proficiency in languages spoken by client group preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
  • Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Schedule clients for needs assessments with the Utah Dept of Workforce Services, including initial and post assessments.

• Follow up on needs and barriers as identified from assessments in the following areas: Health, Education, Employment, ESL, Civics, Housing, Immigration, and Childcare.

• Collaborate closely with the ECM supervisor to identify needs and coordinate services for clients.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation in clients’ e-case files to ensure services are properly documented throughout the clients’ service periods; document all services provided in the state’s data portal UWORKS.

• Make meaningful contact via phone or in-person with each client in your case load monthly, to ensure needs are met.

• Conduct community outreach and maintain a strong network of service providers that meet client needs. The ICM caseworker may also be expected to maintain a strong relationship with local and state level refugee coordinators and health coordinators to ensure client needs are met.

• Respond to client crises, with guidance from supervisor as needed.

• Assist clients requesting financial assistance when applicable and track the received financial assistance within case files.

• Attend mandatory meetings including weekly team and case staffing meetings, monthly all-staff, and 1:1s with the ECM Supervisor.

• Attend relevant trainings and meetings at the local and national level.

• May train and lead the activities of volunteers and interns.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, international studies or related field of study preferred.

• Minimum of 1-2 years of case management or social service experience with similar populations and/or client needs required.

• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:

• A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.

• May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
