WBG Chief Administrative Officer, Managing Director

The main role of the WBG MDCAO position is to bring together the functions of organization strategy, budget and planning, and information and technology as well as Shared Services while having oversight of the Conflict Resolution and Internal Justice System to ensure a robust, fair, transparent and ethical workplace governance and business environment.

Duties and Accountabilities

The Office of the Managing Director and WBG Chief Administrative Officer (MDCAO) is looking for an E T Consultant (ETC) to support its operations. The ETC will report to the Head of Office, MDCAO, and will be looked upon to fulfill a combination of the following roles, as determined by the Head of Office and complementing existing skills and experience in the office.

- Provide strategy, policy and analytical support in the areas assigned. Be part of the team conducting rigorous, multi-faceted analytics. - Support the Head of Office and other team members in the monitoring and reporting of various initiatives at both team and corporate levels. - Design, create and maintain databases, dashboards and other user-friendly monitoring tools; collect updates to monitoring system and follow up with contributors as needed. Prepare summary reports and draft presentations or reports for delivery to a senior audience. - Manage communication flow, briefing notes, and other documentation in assigned areas, ensuring proper and timely follow-ups. - Ensure appropriate follow-through on the MD’s decisions and commitments by working with WBG units responsible for action and implementation. - Work closely with the appropriate World Bank Group units to plan, organize and coordinate visits outside of Washington, D.C. for the MD. Supporting the MD’s travel to external fora and client visits. - Other tasks as assigned by the MD’s Front Office.

Selection Criteria

- Advanced degree (MA/MS) and at least 5 years of relevant experience at the time of application or equivalent combination of education and experience in functions/issues associated with the MDCAO’s portfolio (e.g., strategic planning, budget, IT, legal, shared services, real estate, security etc.) - Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills; proven track record of working across diverse functions, units, and teams to find positive collective outcomes that are supported by concerned parties. - Ability to think strategically and critically, prioritize, and find practical solutions to complex issues. - Strong analytical skills to be applied in the gathering of inputs, assessment of benefits and risks, and consideration of impacts of options/decisions. - Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills. - Team player with strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment, with minimal supervision. - Proven capacity to multi-task, deliver results and respond quickly and effectively to requests. - Good understanding of the cooperation between the WBG and its member countries will be a plus.
