The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) - one of the world's largest multilateral funds – uses climate finance to help low and middle-income countries accelerate low-carbon, climate-resilient development. CIF supports an inclusive and just climate-smart future, focusing on diverse partnerships that de-risk green markets and unlock additional investments and financing.

To date, 15 contributor countries have pledged over US$11 billion to CIF. CIF investments have mobilized an additional US$64 billion in co-financing in over 70 recipient countries. Since its start, CIF has worked in the areas of clean technologies, energy access, climate resilience, and sustainable forests. And now, after identifying the next frontier of climate challenges, CIF is investing in five new areas: the transition from coal, climate-smart cities, nature-based solutions, industry decarbonization, and renewable energy integration.

The CIF's success is premised on a solid partnership with national governments, citizen groups and communities, private sector sponsors, the CIF governing bodies, and the six multilateral development banks that serve as co-financiers and implementing agencies of CIF.

At the center of this collaboration is the CIF Secretariat, hosted by The World Bank which supports the work of the CIF governing bodies, including strategy and policy development as well as reporting; manages internal and external institutional relations as well as strategic partnerships; supports program development; delivers a large program of thought leadership, knowledge and learning work; is responsible for portfolio risk management and new private sector capital mobilization modalities and initiatives.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The ideal candidate will:

• be a versatile and experienced Digital Communications specialist to lead our digital communications and oversee the development and implementation of an overarching digital communications strategy.

• have proven experience creating and shaping digital communications roadmap by planning and executing digital strategies that grow online visibility.

Roles and responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Communications Officer – Communications Team Lead of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), this position will lead CIF’s digital engagement work, developing and managing content across CIF’s social media platforms and website, and will work to strengthen the organizational brand and visibility.

Specific responsibilities include:

The Operations Officer will work closely with the Communications Team to support the implementation of the CIF communications strategy, manage the website and social media channels and provide quality support and project management for CIF digital projects. Responsibilities include:

Content Management:

• Manage the development and implementation of digital communications strategies to optimize CIF communication channels. • Guide our brand voice and ensure all our digital efforts align with our brand identity. • Strategize, plan, and manage day-to-day digital content production of content, copy, and visual assets across all our channels, including websites, email, and social media. • Create and manage content calendars and posting schedule for the organization’s digital channels (social media, website, and newsletters). • Work closely with the communications team and internal stakeholders, to come up with fresh and creative ways of telling stories, publishing content, and engaging with our online audience. • Develop detailed campaign briefs for internal and external teams to create and deploy relevant and compelling content. • Work closely with the Communications team to develop and apply templates and editorial processes and approval workflows to write, edit, review, and publish digital content. • Manage and update content on the CIF website using Drupal, our CMS, to ensure content is accessible and usable.

Analytics:

•Establish key performance indicators and produce web and social media metrics reports on a monthly and campaign basis. •Monitor trends and audience engagement and provide detailed analyses of our web, social media, and email marketing activities to gauge the effectiveness of the organization’s digital strategies. •Drive data-driven decisions to improve engagement and post quality as well as guide content development.

Resource Management:

•Manage third-party vendors and internal teams to ensure the ongoing stability and performance and enhancement of the CIF website, social media platforms, email automations and other digital products, including planning for and testing of all new developments and functionality. •Manage external consultants and vendors providing digital communications support to CIF as required. •Provide training and support to staff creating their own digital content through toolkits, guides and group training sessions.

Selection Criteria

• Master's Degree in Digital Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or other related disciplines, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a digital communications / digital marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience • Excellent knowledge of current digital trends and best practice. • Fully proficient in Google analytics & other online analytic tools and reporting. • Ability to input into and feedback on campaign plans and support others with developing strategic digital activities. • Experience working with websites that have attracted varied audiences/demographics. • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how to implement them effectively. • Proficient in working with content management systems, with working knowledge of Drupal and other online presentation tools. • High levels of initiative, judgment, and decisiveness in accomplishing tasks; proven ability to work independently; good time-management skills and an eye for detail; ability to work effectively under stress and to juggle multiple tasks within tight deadlines. • Interest in international development issues, especially climate change and issues relevant to the Sustainable Development Practice Group. • Strong diplomatic, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; sensitivity to working in a multicultural environment.
