Street Child Nederland is searching for an experienced Grants Manager to continue the growth of the Street Child brand in the Netherlands with a strong focus on partnerships with foundations and institutional funders. Street Child Nederland, one of 8 European members of the Street Child group, aims to contribute to the development of Street Child’s global fundraising network.

The Grants Manager Netherlands sits right at the heart of our core fundraising efforts and will play a vital role in achieving this ambition. As such, you will work in close collaboration with our European fundraising team, located at our hubs in Barcelona and London. The Grants Manager Netherlands will lead the proposal writing and facilitate the cultivation of foundations and institutional donors in a way that both grows revenue and fosters authentic connection to the work of our local partner organizations.

The position is designed to be based in the Amsterdam or the Randstad area. Occasional travel to our offices in Barcelona and London and our project countries will be part of the role. Street Child is an unusually dynamic and fast-changing NGO environment – we absolutely need someone who embraces this culture and opportunity.

Your most important responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the Dutch grant writing strategy in alignment with Street Child’s European fundraising plan.
  • Gain funding from a variety of Dutch foundations and institutional donors and mobilise funding for the projects of our local partners in Africa and Asia.
  • Lead the research, writing and submission of grant proposals in line with donor requirements.
  • Invest, develop and grow long-term partner relationships in close collaboration with our local project partners and the global Programmes team.
  • Build and maintain important networks in philanthropy, international development and emergency aid in the Netherlands.
  • Lead a small Dutch grant writing team.
  • Support other Dutch fundraising channels like individual donors, events or challenges and our communications activities.
  • Leverage opportunities to scale fundraising opportunities on a European level as well as take advantage of synergies.

Your profile:

  • Passionate identification with the values and goals of Street Child.
  • Proven track-record in account management, foundations or institutional fundraising, and good knowledge of proposal writing ideally in international development or humanitarian aid.
  • Strong network in the Netherlands.
  • Dutch language skills at native level, excellent written and spoken communication in Dutch and English to inspire and convince the audience of your project proposals.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a comparable position.
  • Ability to manage employees and volunteers.
  • An academic level of education in a relevant field.
  • Self-starter, who relishes working with a high degree of autonomy, a high sense of responsibility and team spirit in an intercultural environment.
  • Structured, independent, and analytical way of working with an eye for detail, strong financial rigor and integrity.
  • Willingness to travel from time to time.
