You have:

  • At least 5 years experience of driving vehicles.
  • Experience of driving off-road vehicles (4x4) and/or minivan (8 passenger seats and up to 3.5 t).
  • Well experienced with manual and automatic transmission.
  • Ability to communicate with people in different situations.
  • Work in a hazardous environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (with focus on Excel and Word).
  • Full professional proficiency in Ukrainian and advanced level of English required.
  • Valid medical certificate.
  • Certificate from a narcologist.
  • Certificate from a psychiatrist.
  • Valid driver's license with appropriate categories.

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014,currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Driver for its activities in Zaporizhzhia, Zaporizhska oblast.

About the job

Overall purpose of the role is to support and carry out passenger transportation within Ukraine, planning and management of transport and logistics activities in support of humanitarian assistance operations in Dnipropetrovska and Zaporizka oblasts, with business trips around Ukraine.

The driver is responsible for drive, manage and administer the vehicle to provide safe and efficient transport for operations teams and field offices.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Compliance with DRC Standard Operating Procedures for Safety & Security and Fleet Management;
  • Knowledge and compliance with the Traffic Rules of Ukraine 2024;
  • Carry out daily checks of the vehicle technical condition in accordance with DRC Operations Handbook;
  • Carry out the safe transportation of passengers and cargo on a daily basis according to DRC procedures;
  • Maintain accurate, legible, up-to-date and complete records in the Vehicle Logsheet, to keep primary documentation (fiscal receipts, fuel checks, etc.) with reporting to the Fleet Team Leader on a monthly basis;
  • Comply with all procedures and instructions of the organization, report malfunctions, maintenance needs of the assigned vehicle and any Road incidents that occur.
  • Preparation of the assigned vehicle before and after the trip, including: general cleanliness and appearance; checking the spare tire(s) and other equipment, vehicle emergency kit, etc.; checking communication and navigation equipment, checking the first aid kit; checking fuel/oil/water levels and tire pressure; safe and secure loading.
  • Control and efficiency of the use of fuel, oil and other consumables;
  • Other Administrative tasks.

About you:

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 5 years experience of driving vehicles.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Experience of driving off-road vehicles (4x4) and/or minivan (8 passenger seats and up to 3.5 t);

  • Computer literacy: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (with focus on Excel and Word);

  • Valid driver's license with appropriate categories.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National.
