Org. Setting and Reporting The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all Secretariat Entities, Peacekeeping and Special Political missions, Agencies, Funds and Programmes of the UN system worldwide.

This position is located in the United Nations Global Service Centre, Brindisi, Italy, within the Central Service/Campus Support Cell. The incumbent will report directly to the Facilities Management Officer..

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Draughtsman will be responsible for the following duties:

Operations - Assists in preparing office, recreational, renewable energy infrastructure and utilities plans for UNGSC. - Coordinates with engineers and various sections in the implementation of these plans. - Assists in preparing the design and allocation of space for, - UNGSC, based on requirements and entitlements. - Carries out performance surveys to observe and collect information for the sites. - Assists in preparing detailed architectural/engineering drawings for various horizontal and vertical construction works. - Prepares outlines and detailed layouts and construction details based on calculations, concepts and details provided by the supervisors. - Prepares floorplans, technical drawings for repair, rehabilitation, upgrading or construction of new projects. - Through experience of working with AutoCAD, liaises with design department, site personnel to obtain clear specifications, carries out necessary surveys, supports the design department with necessary drawings from concept to handover. - Creates detailed CAD drawings for conceptual as well as for onsite works. - Continuously looks for and suggests ways to improve the space allocation, energy efficiency, processes and works.

Administration - Maintains up-to-date electronic database of premises and generates reports, statistics and presentations as required by the supervisor. - Performs ad hoc duties as assigned.

Takes personal responsibility for his/her own shortcomings and those of the work unit, where applicable.

Education High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job - Specific Qualification Certification in Project Management is desirable.

Certificate in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

Technical training in the field of management engineering or equivalent is desirable.

Work Experience A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible working experience in planning, design, implementation of construction, renovation and refurbishment projects is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher

Experience working in the United Nations common system or similar international organization is desirable.

Experience working with engineering software AutoCAD and Revit is desirable.

Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable .

Experience working with planning and engineering software, such as MS Project, is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
