Khartoum is a beautiful city that has much to offer, starting from restaurants, good schools, recreational activities and a rich culture. While these are only a few of the Khartoum highlights, they may help to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Kindly note that WFP is not responsible for services rendered by the service providers. There are many real estate agencies in Khartoum which can help source permanent accommodation. While several hospitals in Khartoum have good physicians, they may not be as well equipped as those operating in developed countries. There is a clinic in the UNDP compound where UN staff can obtain limited treatment. There are also several dental clinics in Khartoum. However, it is highly recommended that you seek dental treatment in nearby Nairobi or Cairo with more advanced facilities (there are daily outgoing flights from Khartoum) Khartoum is a family Duty Station with access to basic facilities. Summers are long with periods of extreme heat waves from March to October, interrupted by a rainy season that is slightly mild in temperature.
