This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

The UNV will support the UNFPA Regional Office’s sexual and reproductive health team in managing and expanding digital women’s health partnerships, developing women’s health content, coordinating its publication on digital partner platforms, and maintaining UNFPA’s own digital health-related platforms. Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the UNFPA Regional SRH Adviser, and in close collaboration with the Regional Communications and Partnerships teams, the UNV Specialist will:

  1. Digital women’s health partnerships

• Act as focal point for existing digital partnerships, including pregnancy and period tracker apps, • Explore opportunities for expanding partnerships in this area • Manage day-to-day interaction with partners • Draft and review content for partner platforms in line with agreed production plans and schedules • Facilitate the development, review, approval and publication process for UNFPA-branded content pieces

  1. UNFPA digital platforms • Support the development and maintenance of the regional UNFPA Digital training platform • Maintain the regional Cervical Cancer Prevention Alliance Knowledge Hub and web platform

public health and health communication • Proven experience in developing health-related articles or other communication materials, and knowledge of relevant technical resources in the area of health • Excellent communication and writing skills • Have affinity with or interest in health and especially sexual and reproductive health, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System. • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure within an international setting; • Ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds; • Ability to perform a variety of administrative tasks.

For further information, kindly review "UN Volunteers Unified Conditions of Service" document. Please note that, this assignment is remote/home-based assignment. UNV Entitlements in a Nutshell:

International Specialist UN Volunteers: • receive approx. USD 2099 USD for Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA). Family allowance is also provided based on dependency status (USD 250 for 1 dependent, USD 450 for 2 or more dependents, monthly) • are entitled for 100% health coverage by CIGNA. • accrue an entitlement to annual leave at the rate of 2.5 working days per completed month of volunteer assignment. • receive entry allowance (4000 USD) at the beginning of the assignment and exit lumpsum (225 USD per month) at the end of their assignment.
