You have:
- Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree
- Strong interest in digital inclusion, technology access, working with international clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with basic digital tools and platforms
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort with conducting phone or virtual support sessions
- Multilingual skills (especially in Spanish, Arabic, Dari, or Pashto) are a plus
- Interns must be able to commit at least 10 hours a week for at least three months
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle preferred
SCOPE OF WORK****: The Digital Skills Intern will support clients in overcoming digital barriers by providing one-on-one assistance internet connectivity and device access, as well as group digital literacy classes. This role is essential in helping clients gain the digital skills and tools needed to access employment, education, healthcare, and other essential services. The intern will work closely with IRC staff, volunteers, and community partners to assess client needs, provide tailored digital support, and connect clients with appropriate resources. This position is ideal for someone passionate about ensuring our clients have the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to successfully utilize and navigate technology; community empowerment; and engaging with individuals with varied background and experiences
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct intake assessments to identify clients’ digital needs and goals
· Provide individualized support with internet access, device setup, and digital literacy training.
· Assist clients in navigating online platforms for job applications, education, healthcare, and government services.
· Guide clients in using smartphones, tablets, and computers effectively and safely.
· Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes using intake and follow-up forms.
· Collaborate with IRC staff and community partners to refer clients to additional resources as needed.
· Support outreach efforts to promote digital education and empowerment services in the community.
· Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance service delivery.
· Document activities in case files and provide other administrative support as appropriate
· Attend Intern Orientation
· Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard
Qualifications · Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree

· Familiarity with basic digital tools and platforms (eg, email, web browsing, video conferencing, online forms).
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on empathy, respect, and understanding across varied backgrounds and experiences.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Comfort with conducting phone or virtual support sessions.
· Multilingual skills (especially in Spanish, Arabic, Dari, or Pashto) are a plus.

This position is unpaid and reports to the Economic Empowerment Supervisor.
