Digital Graphic Designer
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the RBM and Communication Analyst, the National UN Volunteer Digital Graphic Designer will:
- Provide support in the development of visibility materials on the work of UNDP in Angola;
- Layout and design information and communication materials (banners, posters, infographics, booklets, leaflets, books, calendars, bulletins, flyers, cards);
- Maintain and engage UNDP’s online communities, including drafting and editing content such as photos and information-based graphics;
- Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic, web-based and animated PPT presentations for internal and external audiences, and for presentation
- Editing/quality proofreading/copywriting of documents/publications;
- Design of reports and other communication materials for printing and electronic distribution;
- Improve and edit art-work, photos, charts and other graphic elements;
- Create animations for illustrative purposes such as animations, infographics, presentations and more advanced solutions.
- Preparing materials for printing in line with UNDP editorial and visual guidelines;
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing and Publicity, Media Relations, Digital Marketing, or related area.
Required experience:
12 Months
Experience remark:
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience (minimum 1 years) in documentaries, photojournalism, reporting, photo and Graphic Designer.
- Practical knowledge in copywriting and web edition, developing brochures, and pamphlets an asset.
- Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others;
- Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills;
- Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
- Flexible and open to learning and new experiences;
- Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded;
Language skills:
- Portuguese(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- English(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
Area of expertise:
Web and graphic design, Other communications related experience
Area of expertise details:
- Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others)
- Knowledge of working on Adobe Creative Cloud software including Ilustrator Indesign (graphic);
