• Detailed Regional Social Media Content Strategy, Planning and Calendar readyand implemented. • 30 engaging regional stories curated and published on social media. • Social media assets created including: - 20 sets of social media cards (60 cards in total) - 12 impactful infographics - 15 informative videos • Social Media Campaign Plans aligned with global strategy and calendars for International Day campaigns. • Social Media International campaigns assets developed: 5 videos, 5 infographics and 10 social media cards. • Successful adaptation and implementation of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and World Tsunami Awareness Day campaigns. • Monthly reports analyzing reach, engagement metrics, and content performance produced for optimizing campaign results. • Final report with recommendations and lessons learned for improving the Regional Social Media Strategy for the Americas and the Caribbean. h. Website bilingual coherence and content performance improved. To strategize and execute social media content for international campaigns such as International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) and World Tsunami Awareness Day and website content for the Regional Office of the Americas and the Caribbean, ensuring global and regional alignment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Created in December 1999, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is the designated focal point in the United Nations system for the coordination of efforts to reduce disasters and to ensure synergies among the disaster reduction activities of the United Nations and regional organizations and activities in both developed and less developed countries. Led by the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction (SRSG), UNDRR has over 140 staff located in its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and in regional offices. Specifically, UNDRR guides, monitors, analyses, and reports on progress in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, supports regional and national implementation of the Framework and catalyzes action, and increases global awareness to reduce disaster risk by working with the U.N. Member States and a broad range of partners and stakeholders, including civil society, the private sector, parliamentarians, and the science and technology community. Under the supervision of UNDRR (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) Public Information Assistant and supported by the External Relation Officer, the consultant will develop: 1. Social Media Strategy, Content Planning and production and results monitoring for the Regional Office of the Americas and the Caribbean: Content Planning: - Develop a detailed plan and calendar for the implementation of regional social media content on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Content Production: - Curate and publish 30 regional stories in English and Spanish across relevant platforms. Digital Assets Creation: - Design and deliver 20 sets of social media cards with 3 sets per card totaling 60 cards. - Produce 12 infographics tailored to highlight regional key statistics and messages. Video Production: - Produce 15 videos (1 minute each) incorporating footage and messaging provided by UNDRR. Campaign Reporting: - Develop comprehensive monthly reports detailing campaign results, including reach, engagement metrics, and content performance. - Final report with recommendations and lessons learned for improving the Regional Social Media Strategy for the Americas and the Caribbean. 2. Partnerships: - Strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, UN system, and develop a micro influencers engagement strategy (mapping will be provided by UNDRR) 3. Social Media Strategy and Content Planning and Implementation of International Campaigns: Campaign Planning: - Develop a detailed plan and calendar for the implementation of each campaign aligned with the global calendar on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. - Liaise with the global team to ensure content coherence. Content Production: - Develop and publish content in English and Spanish. - Adapt global campaign content for International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and World Tsunami Awareness Day. Regional Adaptation: - Adapt social media assets to ensure they are engaging for the regional audience. Digital Assets Creation: - Produce a package of digital assets for each campaign: - 5 videos (1 minute each) - 5 infographics - 10 social media cards Campaign Reporting: - Develop detailed monthly reports evaluating campaign performance, including metrics and insights gathered. - Final report with recommendations and lessons learned for improving the strategy for international campaings implementation 4. Bilingual Website content optimization - Reporting and Analysis of UNDRR Office for the Regional Americas and the Caribbean content pages performance, - Develop an Action plan with recommendations for bilingual coherence and content performance improvement. - Consultation with UNDRR Web team to define a calendar and implement the approved recommendations.

Qualifications/special skills

A first-level university degree in marketing, digital communication, or communications is required. Three (3) years of working experience in social media management are required. Copywriting, editing, and design experience, including experience editing videos (Adobe Suite package) are required. Experience with Google Analytics, tracking and reporting quantitative social media analytics, and qualitative social media analytics is required. Experience with Drupal multi-domain and Hootsuite multi-domain environments, as well as video editing for social media is desirable. Experience in DRR in the Americas and the Caribbean or within the UN system is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in Spanish and English is required for this consultancy.
