Work Location The consultant will work remotely in the UAE, with the possibility of reporting to the office on occasion.

Expected duration 6 months effective 1st of July 2022

Duties and Responsibilities The consultant is expected to deliver high quality outputs, according to agreed timeframes, in support of the following activities:

1. Data and Reporting Support - Provide general support to the RCO team members in relation to data management, including periodically capturing data to feed into information systems, generating reports corresponding to organization-wide requirements, and support the maintenance and updating of reporting requirements. - Develop an interactive dashboard using Microsoft Power BI to provide users with information on UN engagements in the UAE, including the UN's footprint in the UAE, flagship programmes and initiatives, and key documents and other published materials by UNCT members and other UN entities of relevance to the UAE. - Provide training and capacity development support to RCO colleagues and UNCT focal points on data management, and the use, updating, and servicing of the interactive dashboard.

2. Digital Landscape Analysis - Track and map the UN's digital footprint and online presence and references in UAE-based media and relevant government and other stakeholders' websites. - Develop a mechanism to issue automated periodical reports and alerts of any new stories and publications relevant to the UN by UAE-based media. Support efforts to strengthen UN's messaging and engagements with online audiences, informed by mapping of digital landscape

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, communications or related field is required. Experience: - A minimum of two years' experience in data management and reporting systems is required. - Experience with online analytical tools, including Microsoft Power BI is desirable. - Familiarity with and previous experience with the UN or similar environment is desirable. - Excellent writing, planning, research, communication and reporting skills is desirable. - Demonstrated experience working in the United Nations development system is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required; Fluency in Arabic is required.

NOTE: 'Fluency' equals a rating of 'fluent' in all four areas (speak, read, write and understand) and 'Knowledge of' equals a rating of 'confident' in two of the four areas.
