You have:

  • A diploma in health management, social sciences, statistics, or a related field.
  • 2-year experience in data collection, field surveys, humanitarian program, or nutrition-related activities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to use mobile data collection tools or digital applications.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in data entry and the use of Microsoft Excel or equivalent data management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in challenging field conditions.
  • Respect for confidentiality and humanitarian principles.
  • Teamwork and adaptability in dynamic environments.

The Opportunity – Data Collector (Causal Worker)

Post location: Gaza Field Office

Contract Duration and Level of Effort: 6 months.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Data Collector is responsible for accurately collecting, verifying, and entering personal and nutrition-related data for children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers using approved tools. The role involves beneficiary registration while ensuring adherence to standardized protocols. The Data Collector ensures data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality, supports real-time digital reporting, and promptly reports any inconsistencies or operational issues.

The role requires strong attention to detail, strict compliance with data protection and safeguarding principles, and effective communication with vulnerable communities and program teams.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Nutrition Program Officer

Staff reporting to this post: None.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Responsible for collecting reliable and validated personal, demographic, and nutrition-related data from beneficiaries (children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers) using standardized tools.
  • Ensures proper registration and verification of eligible beneficiaries, preventing duplication and confirming adherence to programme eligibility criteria.
  • Enters collected data accurately into approved digital systems or mobile applications, ensuring timely synchronization and real-time reporting when required.
  • Maintains high standards of data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and validity, and identifies and reports errors or discrepancies promptly.
  • Strictly follows established data collection guidelines, nutrition screening protocols, and organizational procedures, including ethical standards and informed consent requirements
  • Ensures confidentiality and secure handling of all personal and sensitive beneficiary information in line with data protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Coordinates effectively with nutrition teams, supervisors, and community stakeholders, and communicates clearly with beneficiaries in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • 2-year experience in data collection, field surveys, humanitarian program, or nutrition-related activities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to use mobile data collection tools or digital applications.
