STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced University degree in Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mathematics, Sociology, Social Development, Development Economics or Performance Management or other relevant fields. Minimum of 2-3 years post-graduate professional experience in statistical analysis, econometrics, or first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and /or training/courses

Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Head of Research Assessment and Monitoring the Data Analyst and Beneficiary Information Management Officer will play a key role in undertaking a timely analysis of monitoring and evaluation data to support WFP generate quality evidence on the outcomes and effects of WFP's food assistant, resilience and capacity strengthening activities on the lives of beneficiaries with which to inform operational decision making and strategic reorientation. the holder of this position will also ensure all beneficiary information and databases are up to date and make data available in real time using appropriate visualization tools for optimal utilization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Assist with the development of new electronic data collection tools and prepare syntaxes and scripts for the calculation of outcome indicators.
  2. Create online visualizations including an operational dashboard (Tableau or Power BI) that support real-time evidence-based insights, showcasing monthly key figures and accumulated assistance in the various programmes for strategic and operational decision-making.
  3. Develop a data library to collate and curate evidence-based products and contribute to the archiving and use of data sets for primary and secondary use.
  4. Make data available in real-time for optimal data utilization and undertake regular data review meetings with key stakeholders.
  5. Prepare and update an online tool for tracking the implementation of monitoring and review recommendations.
  6. Aggregate and consolidate beneficiary information and prepare beneficiary reports.
  7. Implement a Knowledge Management Hub using innovative and interactive tools. This will serve as a knowledge repository for the Country Office.
  8. Develop, implement and operationalize Data Protection and Privacy policies, governance mechanisms, procedures and tools to maximize program efficiency across WFP operations both at the Country office and field offices.
  9. SOPs and guidance in line with WFP’s Data Protection and Privacy Policy and conduct internal Data Privacy Audits.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to analyze and translate M & E numerical data to show WFP's outcomes and impact against objectives;
  • Ability to explain WFP projects and operations to counterparts and to communicate with Government and partners clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analysis skills

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

  • Three (3) years of related work experience with Tableu, quantitative data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STAT and /or R), qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA and/or ATLAS.ti) and Python
  • Experience with additional programming languages is a plus
  • Experience in designing and conducting advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses and the generation of evidence based dashboards and reports is highly desirable
