This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

UNDP Serbia implements the Country Programme Document (CPD) 2021-2025, that draws on and supports the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). The CPD has 3 strategic priorities: (a) Serbia harnesses the full potential of a green, sustainable and inclusive economy; (b) Well-being, social equity and human potential are at the heart of systems, policies and practices; (c) Building trust and mutual accountability through the rule of law, rights and duties agenda.

The new Programme is ambitious and includes priorities like green technology, e-governance, artificial intelligence, using multiple platforms and innovative funding mechanisms and engagement with International Financial Institutions (IFIs). UNDP Serbia will tackle these new areas by consistently applying a portfolio approach, allowing the new Programme to respond to various emerging development challenges, such as COVID19, depopulation, circular economy.

UNDP has begun incubating a number of strategic initiatives aimed at ensuring UNDP is ‘fit for purpose’ to deliver a new generation of solutions in line with the challenges the world faces. One such key strategic initiatives is the data analytics of the UNDP processes.

UNDP is, therefore, looking to recruit a professional and would equip him/her with proper information and knowledge product of relevance to the assignment.

Under the direct supervision of the UNDP Serbia Deputy Resident Representative, the National UN Volunteer Specialist will undertake the following tasks:

Content Development · Conduct research and analysis to support the development of high-quality content and materials. · Utilize analytical writing skills to create high-quality reports and briefing papers for senior management's internal consumption · Visual Design and Presentation

In cooperation with UNDP communications team; · Work closely with senior management and program leads to produce visual presentations, infographics, and other digital materials. · Use various software and tools to create visually appealing and engaging materials. · Support senior management in preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Data Analysis and Process Improvement · Assist senior management in analyzing data to inform decision-making and developing recommendations for process improvements. · Support senior management in preparing action points for joint briefings and other high-profile events with selected target groups.

Organization and Support · Create and maintain digital filing systems to ensure accessibility and organization of all digital materials produced. · Provide support in various administrative tasks as needed

· Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;

· Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;

· Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.

UN Volunteer entitlements and allowances:

The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service. Contingent on specific eligibility criteria, location of the volunteer assignment and contractual type and category, the payment of allowances will begin from the date of Commencement of Service For more information on entitlements please read the Condition of Service (https://explore.unv.org/cos).
