How can you make a difference?

Scope of Work:

The assignment will entail data analysis and report writing for all Monitoring and Survey Data collected for cash transfer programmes implemented for health, education, nutrition and emergency response programmes throughout the country or any other related programme that may be initiated during the assignment period. The consultant will also be expected to support with the development of other information management products, like data collection templates, maps, dashboards, project briefs, infographics, survey reports, and other monitoring reports, etc. as relevant.

Data quality assurance by cleaning and consolidation of existing survey and monitoring data into clean and archivable user-friendly datasets ready for further analysis or sharing with other partners as and when required.

Clean monitoring or survey data organized in user friendly format.

October – Dec (20 working days).

Conducts data analysis on specific indicators (quantitative & qualitative) using appropriate tools and statistical software when necessary (excel, SPSS, Stata, R, Power BI, etc.).

High quality monitoring reports from quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary data compiled.

October – Dec (20 working days).

Supporting the development of other information management products, like data collection templates, maps, dashboards, project briefs, infographics, survey reports, and other monitoring reports, etc. as relevant.

Specific information products as requested by UNICEF developed in using agreed format and template.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in ** Master’s Degree in Econometrics, Economics, Statistics, Research or Mathematical Sciences.*
  • A minimum of five of relevant professional experience in
  • At least 5 years-experience in socio-economic data analysis for UNICEF and other UN organizations or NGOs.
  • Excellent statistical data analysis skills using spreadsheets and data analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, R, Power BI.
  • Excellent knowledge of database systems.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills in English Language.
  • Experience in producing high quality monitoring and survey reports on social economic indicators and themes for UNICEF or other UN agencies.
  • Experience managing large and complex datasets.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Interested consultants are required to apply online, indicating availability and all-inclusive lump sum fee to undertake the terms of reference.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
