About Kiron

Kiron Open Higher Education gGmbH is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with the mission to enable access to high-quality education for refugees and underserved communities through digital solutions. Our team of Kironistas is international, agile and thinks out-of-the-box. We are education experts, techies, designers, project managers, communicators, grant writers, researchers, innovators and dreamers, all united in our passion to democratize digital education.

For the Digital Self-Defense Center (DSDC) Kiron has developed a platform and online course in English and Spanish. The content of the course and navigation texts of the website have been translated into Dari and Pashto. The content in these two languages will now need to be implemented so that the content will be accessible online in Dari and Pashto for the target group. Therefore, we are looking for a Dari/Pashto Language Implementor who will make sure that the translated DSDC content is implemented in the backend so that Afghans can pass the online course in either language.

As our new Dari/Pashto Language Implementor…

  • … you will make sure that the entire DSDC online course and platform navigation are available in Dari, as well as Pashto. You will also generally need to check the translations and make sure that the language version English, Dari & Pashto correspond and make sure that when a Dari or Pashto speaker runs through the course, everything is shown in the chosen language.

To achieve this goal, you will…

  • … work together with our Programs team, our Operations team and our Project Manager for the DSDC project….
  • … take ownership and learn how to use the backend of the Kiron campus

About you

  • ... You have professional proficiency in English, Dari & Pashto.
  • ... You have work experience in the area of website management and good IT skills
  • ... You’re adept at working with websites with various language settings
  • ... You’re willing to take ownership and proactively identify gaps
  • ... You’re flexible and resilient, and a good communicator

Ideally, you might also have: * ... Knowledge of html or h5p * ...experience working with an LMS
