You have:

  • A first university degree, Bachelor, in engineering or an equivalent, is required.
  • At least 2 years of IT work experience with Customs automation for governmental institutions is required.
  • Work experience in Java programming language is required.
  • Work experience in Linux Operating System is required.
  • Work experience in Oracle Database is required.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required.
  • Knowledge of English is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the project officer of DTL/ASP, and in collaboration with an expert in Geneva, the consultant will: (a) Assist an ASYCUDA technical expert to develop/program specific data exchange mechanisms for Sudan Customs with third party entities via ASYCUDAWorld based on provided requirements specifications documents. This will consist in: - Coding the specific programs within the ASYCUDAWorld Sudan source code using the specific ASYCUDAWorld technical platform which allows for this form of data channeling. The first part will consist of coding the reception of the data from the external entity and integrating the data into ASYCUDAWorld. The second part will consist of extracting the relevant data from ASYCUDAWorld, structuring it into an XML file and encrypting it before transmitting it to the external entity. (b) Assist an ASYCUDA technical expert to test the above with third party entities. This will consist in: - Installing the developed data exchange programs in the ASYCUDAWorld Sudan test environment and running them with a connection to the external entity to see if the data arrives securely and with the right integrity. The external entity will confirm reception, integration and sending of data in the opposite direction.

Qualifications/special skills

A first university degree, Bachelor, in engineering or an equivalent, is required. At least 2 years of IT work experience with Customs automation for governmental institutions is required. Work experience in Java programming language, Linux Operating System and Oracle Database is required.

Languages

Fluency in written and spoken in Arabic is required. Knowledge of English is desirable.
