This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

• As an active UNITAD team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNITAD and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: Providing support to UNITAD’s tactical criminal database and working alongside both crime and legal analysts working on cross-cutting cases. Working within the Economic Crimes Unit, managing data and conducting research into ISIL‘s senior leadership, command structures, administration, and revenue capabilities. • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated, and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • This assignment supports volunteerism for peace and development through building capacity around holding those responsibly for profiting from war to account for their role in atrocities committed.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Senior Investigator or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Criminal Database Analyst will:

• Support team members with data cleaning from primary or secondary sources and maintaining databases/data systems • Create simple data visualizations for internal or external use independently • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports • Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools • Identifies and analyzes errors and inconsistencies in data and provides timely resolutions • Translates data results into written reports, or presentations to convey information to management

Data management or any relevant fields. • Experience in big data management, and/or scripting in ‘R’ or Python, • Research and analysis in a law enforcement or military setting, • Familiarity with military formations and structures / weapon systems, • Familiarly with financial investigations.

Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills. Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
