The Arab States region has encountered several emergency situations in the past two years, beginning with the earthquake in Syria, followed by the conflict in Sudan, another earthquake in Morocco, and the devastating floods in Libya.

In order to maintain a swift and effective response and safeguard the peace and development efforts in member states, UN agencies must remain prepared for any potential emergency scenario.

To achieve this, we are seeking the assistance of online volunteers to help create Volunteer Description of Assignments (DOA) templates for humanitarian UN agencies. These templates will not only be utilized during the current emergency situations but also serve as valuable resources for handling future crises.

UNV ROAS is seeking the support of two online volunteers in developing standard volunteer assignments to UN agencies operating in emergency contexts.

Each online volunteer will 1- select three humanitarian UN organization from the following (OCHA, UNISEF, WFP, WHO, UNHCR, FAO) 2- Conduct internet research on these organizations activities and needed support. 3- Review the previously published DOAs from these organizations and 4- Create at least 20 standard DOA templates tailored to these organizations for their activities Libya and Morocco

  • Experience in creating DOAs or TORs
  • Previous experience in the humanitarian/emergency context.
  • Understanding of the project cycles would be a plus
  • Previous experience with any humanitarian UN agency would be an assets
