Overview

Design and deliver training sessions, monitor and evaluate activities.

You have:

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in education, human resource management, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of five years of training and facilitation experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in presentation and communication skills is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogic and adult learning is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and course design in artificial intelligence is desired.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • French is a working language but not explicitly required.

Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. UN-Habitat is the focal point for all urbanization and human settlement matters within the UN system. UN-Habitat works with partners to build inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and communities. UN-Habitat promotes urbanization as a positive transformative force for people and communities, reducing inequality, discrimination and poverty. Under the general guidance of the Director MACS, the Consultant will perform the following functions: • Design and conduct all of the workshop promotion and marketing. • Conduct all of the participant registration. • A prior learning assessment to gather baseline data to customize the training with a baseline survey designed to assess AI interests, needs, strengths, and gaps. • Staff complete a “Personal Standard Operating Manual” to help them navigate AI, a customized tool that assesses their motivation style(s), and technology change personality. • Design a training workshop based on the prior learning assessment and baseline data, including custom learning materials, and learning activities. • Facilitating a 90-minute custom-designed, online, interactive workshop, delivered six times for 10-20 UNHABITAT staff in each workshop. • Participant group learning debrief. • Brief report created with recommendations • Four follow-up, innovative, interactive learning activities to help apply the learning. • Creation and maintenance of a WhatsApp group (or tool of choice) for interested participants to continue the learning. • Online learning resources portal shared with all participants to assist with learning transfer. • Follow-up group calls to support application of learning.
