The Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) section within PFP works with National Committees and UNICEF Country Offices to maximize income and drive income growth. There are five units within the PSFR section, the Corporate Fundraising unit one being one of them. The purpose of the Corporate Partnerships team is to drive impact, defined as financial resources in addition to other valuable assets and opportunities, to optimize the value of the partnership to achieve UNICEF’s strategic goals. The team supports key UNICEF Divisions with partnership strategies as well as supporting National Committees and Country Offices with their strategies for growth. The team also champions and drives global best practice, partnership strategy and issues guidance and policies globally. Team members also play a role in the relationship management of key partners.

For every child, a Champion

Under the supervision of a Corporate Alliances Specialist (New Business), the Corporate Partnerships Officer (New Business) supports the Corporate Partnerships Global New Business Team at PFP by serving as focal point for processes and initiatives that span across the Global New Business or broader Corporate Partnerships Team, while also building her/his individual experience in high-value prospecting by shadowing New Business Specialists or Managers on specific opportunities.

How can you make a difference?

1. Provide support to New Business Managers and Specialists on specific opportunities and processes:

  1. Create and update template pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies on partners for the National Committees and Regional/Country Offices network to use.
  2. Draft templates for the team to use (i.e., multi-Country note template)
  3. Serve as focal point for Contributions in Kind.
  4. Triage incoming requests from non-priority markets and provide guidance and support to these markets as needed.
  5. Identify the key processes needed across the team and document these for internal knowledge management.
  6. Support other new business team projects as needed.

2. Support Knowledge Management:

  1. Compile key materials for markets and ensuring they have access.
  2. Update the new business pages on the intranet.
  3. Manage an internal monthly newsletter to markets.
  4. Acting as team UNISON focal point, upskilling and supporting the team to ensure UNISON is used effectively.

3. Act as coordination focal point for the New Business participation in external events or internal webinars:

  1. Support the bilateral nomination, briefing note preparation and meeting organization processes for major initiatives/events (for example UNGA, Davos, Mobile World Congress…).
  2. Coordinate an onboarding training for new business new starters in markets.
  3. Help organize other key meetings or webinars.

4. Act as emergency focal point for the Corporate Partnerships team:

  1. In coordination with the Emergency team, proactively gather and share information, assets and good practices in a timely manner during emergencies.
  2. Conduct capacity building for markets in the area of emergency activation.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Efficient and effective delivery against the above accountabilities will result in the smooth operation of these processes and deliverables, enabling impact for children through new corporate partnerships.

  • The Corporate Alliances Specialist.

Working Place:

  • Geneva, Switzerland is the official duty station. (Flexible work arrangements may be applied if there is a need.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Education:

  • A first-level university degree in relevant areas is required. (Business or Marketing preferably, International Relations, Social Sciences or related fields will also be considered), combined with two years of professional work experience.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of experience supporting teams in partnerships, communication, marketing, and/or knowledge management is required.
  • Experience in designing external PowerPoint presentations and Microsoft Publisher documents, or similar pitch/sales documents is required.
  • Excellent Knowledge and strong understanding of partnerships (particularly corporate partnerships) is an asset.
  • A strong experience of using Office suite software is required, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are an asset.
  • Experience and strong skills in using Salesforce (CRM system) is an asset.
  • Strong writing skills are required.
  • Experience in designing knowledge management products is an asset
  • Solid understanding of the UNICEF environment or similar international non-profit is an asset.

Specifically, for this role, we are looking for someone who is good at:

  • Planning and creating a clear process.
  • Keeping track of multiple things at the same time in an organized manner.
  • Communicating deadlines and process out to a team and following up to make sure the team delivers quality outputs against a given deadline.
  • Data quality control, tracking & forecasting.

Language requirement:

  • Fluency in English is required (Verbal and written). Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

UNICEF PFP-Geneva is currently reviewing organizational changes; therefore, the exact future location of these posts is still under consideration/to be determined. Candidates may be asked to commence duties remotely. Should the selected candidates be assigned and relocate to Geneva, they may later be asked to relocate and be assigned to another location during the initial contract or assignment period.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid).
